But instead, you chose to protest against Israel, the Middle East’s sole democracy, where women are equal, the press criticizes the government, human rights organizations can operate freely, religious freedom is protected for all – and minorities do not live in fear.

Therefore, we suggest you solve the real problems of the region first, and then come back and share your experiences with us.

Last week, Metzger called on Jews worldwide to pray for Pollard’s freedom during the Passover holiday.

Pollard’s condition is still unknown, though at least one source has called it “life-threatening,” The Jerusalem Post reported last weekend.

President Shimon Peres – who is set to meet with Pollard’s wife, Esther, later on Sunday – met with Shas’s spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef Sunday morning and discussed the imprisoned Israeli agent. Yosef asked of Peres to work for Pollard’s release, according to Army Radio.
