Giv’at Halfon Eina Ona (Hebrew: גבעת חלפון אינה עונה) also credited as Halfon Hill Doesn’t Answer, is a cult Israeli comedy film produced in 1976. It is a good-hearted satire movie about the Israel Defense Forces which tells the story of a reserves company, watching the Egyptian border in Sinai. Characters such as the conman Sergio Constanza, the Egyptian-born Mr. Hasson and the huge cook Yosifoun became classics.
The name of the film is a parody of the name of the Israeli patriotic film Giv’a 24 Eina Ona (Hill 24 Doesn’t Answer). The film was directed by Assi Dayan and features members of HaGashash HaHiver: Shaike Levi, Yisrael Poliakov and Gavri Banai.
The IDF released footage of the Monday raid on the “Free Gaza” flotilla, which depicted the activists upon the ship attacking soldiers with various weapons, including a large metal pole and other metal objects.
In a brief interview with the soldiers who were aboard the ships, one soldier said that the attack “looked like the Ramallah lynch.” (JPost)
Captured in this aerial footage, a Hamas terrorist plants an IED and then climbs into a house containing uninvolved civilians. Later the civilians and the Hamas terrorist exit the house waiving a white flag, at which point IDF troops approach and arrest the terrorist.
This is just one of many examples of how Hamas uses uninvolved civilians as human shields. This example is particularly egregious since the terrorist used civilians waving a white flag to try to evade IDF soldiers.
Kite-Surfing is actually booming in Tel Aviv. It is a surface water sport that uses the wind to pull a rider through the water on a small surfboard. In good days, you can see dozens of them:
The Carmel Market, also known as “Shuk HaCarmel”, is the city’s biggest marketplace. It is located at the intersection of Allenby Street and King George.
A little bit smaller than the one in Jerusalem, it is one crowded narrow alley where you can find anything at the lowest price. The first part of the market, coming from Allenby, is mostly souvenirs and clothing stands. The second part is the best place to find food products in Tel Aviv.
Here is a video of a walk from the entrance to the last stands. The only thing missing is the smell of the oriental spices…
The IDF Field Intelligence Corps showcased several new weapons developed by it, along with a demonstration of it’s camouflage abilities. The “Spot and Strike System” is used by soldiers to maintain a level of maximum security while putting their lives at minimal risk, defending the border from the war room in their bases.

Among the 3 athletes representing Israel in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Roman and Alexandra Zaretzky competed last night dressed in orthodox style. They are skating on Hava Nagila and the music from Shindler’s List, and this is not a joke ! (read the Jerusalem Post article)
Here you can have a look at their same-style 2006 performance in Turin :
Jews are allowed to pray here only a few days during the year. The other days, only muslims can go inside.
