Saturday, February 18th, 2012

DEFINITION OF THE PRAYER POWER :

Organs articulate and pronounce the words of the prayers, which are addressed to the Creator; those prayers are receptacles that include the blessing of God. They are the containers of spiritual flux, precursor of the God’s given gifts.
“The prayer is the main weapon of the Jewish. And any disputed war of the human being, either for the sake of it or against the adverse of the truth, has to be handled by the prayer; since the whole human vitality comes from the prayer.”

“To wish to really obtain the holiness of Israel, someone must be plentiful of prayers, supplication and conversation with his Creator. It is the main weapon to win the war.”

The prayer has an unlimited power. God listens to all the prayers and takes them into consideration. He desires them and waits for them.

Rebbe Nachman of Breslov (1772 – 1810), is the founder of the Breslov Hasidic dynasty.

Rebbe Nachman, a great grandson of the Baal Shem Tov, breathed new life into the Hasidic movement by combining the esoteric secrets of Judaism (the Kabbalah) with in-depth Torah scholarship. He attracted thousands of followers during his lifetime and his influence continues until today. Rebbe Nachman’s religious philosophy revolved around closeness to God and speaking to God in normal conversation “as you would with a best friend.” (wiki)

Famous quotes :

“It is a great mitzvah to be happy always.”

“If you believe that you can damage, then believe that you can fix.”

“Worldly desires are like sunbeams in a dark room. They seem solid until you try to grasp one.”

“It is very good to pour out your heart to God as you would to a true, good friend.”

“You are never given an obstacle you cannot overcome.”

January 2012 was Israel’s rainiest month ever since the birth of the State of Israel

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Rainfall in the month of January broke all Israeli records.

There were 29 days with some rain during the month of January, which broke the previous record of 25 wet days in January 1947, as recorded by the national Meteorological Service.

January 1969 and February 1992 had 24 days with some rainfall.

In most of northern Israel there were 26 wet days, but in Nahariyah and in the Galilee there were 29 wet days, leading to the record.

In addition, the water level in the Sea of Galilee rose by 55 centimeters during the month of January.

The last record was in 1947, just before the creation of the State Israel and we can hope this rainy month will also be a sign of blessings for the People of Israel.

But why is rain always considered to be a blessing in Judaism ?

Bet El – The site of Jacob’s Dream Discovered ?

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

For many years, the site of Jacob’s dream was identified in a Roman – Byzantine citadel named Burj Bitin located south of the Arab village of Bitin, near Ramallah. In a new documentary, just released today, Dr. Hagi Ben-Artzi brings the archaeological discoveries in a site named Makam Sheikh Abdallah, near the settlement of Bet El.

These findings prove the theory suggested by Prof. Zeev Vilnai, that the site of Jacob’s dream became the site of the Temple of King Jeroboam in Makam Sheikh Abdallah. In recent years, the archaeological findings proved this was the site of the Israelite Temple which was probably located on the site of Jacob’s dream.

The documentary brings the first pictures from the archaeological findings and the accumulation of facts which can lead to the conclusion that the site of Jacob’s dream has been discovered. (Arutz7)

Yesha Rabbis: Flotilla Incident Start of Gog and Magog

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

The Rabbinical Council of Judea and Samaria issued a statement Thursday in which it said that the results of Israel’s interception of a flotilla trying to break the naval blockade of Gaza “place us at the beginning of the Gog and Magog process where the world is against us, but whose end orders the third and final redemption,” according to the Kol Rinah news service. The reference is to the book of Ezekiel 38:18-39:16, read on the intermediate Sabbath of Sukkot (Tabernacles), which describes a war that will precede the final redemption.

The statement continued, “Secular Zionism always aspired that we not be ‘a people alone among the peoples’, but the legitimacy of our people is not derived from the nations of the world and their hateful traditions, rather from the Torah of Israel which teaches us, “The people will live alone and will not take other peoples into consideration.” (Numbers 23:9) The council blessed the soldiers and called for the unity of an emergency government that will bring about promises of salvation for the people.

Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu Zatzal – רבי מרדכי אליהו זצ”ל

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Mordechai Eliyahu z’l (Mordechai Tzemach Eliyahu, Hebrew: מרדכי אליהו‎) (March 3, 1929, Jerusalem – June 7, 2010, Jerusalem) was a prominent rabbi, posek and spiritual leader. He served as the Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel from 1983 to 1993.

These are Jonathan Pollard’s words to his wife, Esther, in response to the painful news that his beloved rabbi, HaRav Mordechai Eliyahu passed away today:

“Baruch Dayan HaEmet. Not since we both lost our mothers have we experienced such a profound and unbearable loss. We are heartbroken. We are bereft. We are orphaned in the deepest sense of the word. The Rav left us a wonderful legacy, and that is what we have to focus on. For all of the years that we had the blessing to be part of his life, he gave us strength; he gave us direction; and he gave us hope.

In terms of all of Am Yisrael, the Rav provided all of the People of Israel with a model of what a true Jew should be. The Rav was unafraid, he was strong, he was wise, he was sure and he was dedicated. He was unwavering in his devotion to the Land and the People of Israel. He was a true servant of HaShem. He feared no man; only G-d. That is the model that he gave us; and that is the model which will continue to inspire us. That is the model we hope to live up to.

Baruch Hashem, we have so many rich memories of the time we spent in the Rav’s company. With what humor and warmth and wisdom and absolute kindness he continually blessed us! How very fortunate are we to have had the enormous zechut of being his children and coming under his influence! May the memory of our beloved Rav be a blessing for all of Am Yisrael!”  Source: J4JP

Rare Moment: 70 Jews Permitted onto Temple Mount

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

70 Jews were permited to go to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem this morning, the first day of Chol HaMoed Pesach, until 9am. The visit to Judaism’s holliest site was organized by the Temple Institute. The israeli police forced the vistors to break down into small groups of 10, the groups were not permitted to meet each other, and praying was strictly forbidden.

Can you imagine that ? Jews are forbidden to pray at Judaism”s holliest site ! What would Catholics say if they were forbidden to go to the Vatican ? Or Muslims if they could’t pray at the Mecca ? Why aren’t  foreign medias reporting this terrible injustice ?

Plane alert caused by tefilin

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

A 17-year-old boy on Flight 3079 traveling from New York to Louisville was using tefillin boxes which are attached to the arm and forehead and contain prayer scrolls and have long leather straps which wrap around the arm, said Philadelphia police Lt. Frank Vanore.

“It’s something that the average person is not going to see very often, if ever,” FBI spokesman J.J. Klaver said.

The teen explained the ritual after being questioned by crew members, but the captain decided to land in Philadelphia anyway, authorities said.

The flight left LaGuardia Airport in New York around 7:30 a.m. It landed without incident in Philadelphia about 90 minutes later and was met by police and officials from the FBI and Transportation Security Administration.

Authorities said the plane was searched and passengers were questioned. The teen, who is from White Plains, N.Y., and was traveling with his 16-year-old sister, was very cooperative, Vanore said.

“They were more alarmed than we were,” Vanore said.

Klaver said the teen and his sister were never in custody, and have been cleared to continue their travels. Passengers on 50-seat regional jet, which was operated by Chautauqua Airlines, were rebooked on other flights, US Airways spokesman Morgan Durrant said.

When I saw this information a few days ago , I immediately asked myself this question: how is it possible that nowadays, an American stewardess who travels a lot have never seen only once in her life a Jew praying with tefilin ? Well, it is possible unfortunately, and it would be interesting to see the results of a poll. I doubt that more half of the non-Jews know what tefilin is.

Jews, put tefilin from now on and every day, let the world know about tefilin !:)
